It's finally here!

Took a while to punch everything and sort out all the stuff. Got a couple extra bases in my set. I may use one for the Red Baron Boss Ship that looks lonely because he doesn't get one like the others. Sadly I'm missing a couple models and a card out of my 6th player set, but nothing that prevents me from playing while I wait for replacements (well, if we play 6 players, the last guy is missing an upgrade). The Company has been very nice about things so far, so we will see how quick and painless their replacement policy is. First impressions; Overall the game looks very nice. It was packaged well and the insert fits everything nicely. Room for sleeved cards (depending on the type of sleeves you use) with extra space even. The mini cards are not the specified size, so mini Euro card sleeves do not got them like they were supposed to. The models are amazingly detailed, but molded in a very hard plastic that may prove brittle over time (but they look awesome). The XPM tokens are very cool and the Astartium Crystals are some of the clearest acrylic gems I've ever seen. The player boards are much thinner than I would like. I was expecting thin 3mm chipboard or the like, but they are more of a thick poster board. Chipboard ones like the player dashboards in Firefly not only would have looked nicer and been more durable, the cutouts for the cubes would have been a lot m
ore useful. As it is, the cubes barely sit into them, so they really do very little. A nice concept, but not entirely functional as they are. We will have to see how they hold up over time as well. The rulebook is laid out nicely, but the horrible dark print on dark backgrounds make it nearly unreadable. Thankfully the publisher made a new pdf file with a much more readable color scheme. The rest of the components are pretty nice. Have to play a few games over the next couple of days to get a feel for things and I will get my review video posted up by the end of the week. I love the look of the game so far despite its issues. How it plays will be interesting to see.
